Advanced Topics Blues: Conversation in Blues

Think of the most stimulating and memorable conversations in your life: are they the ones where someone agreed with everything you said or the ones where you were challenged, where ideas developed and were discarded, and by the end you couldn’t remember where the conversation started? The latter, right? Well, we think the same applies to your dancing.
In this class, we’ll help you develop the skills to turn your dancing into a stimulating conversation, making each dance different with each partner. Leads will work on listening and drawing inspiration from the follow, and how not to feel responsible for the entire content of the dance at all times. Follows will work on adding to the dance without taking over and bringing their own voice to the dance. And together we’ll work on creating ideas in collaboration that can surprise and inspire everyone.
Time: 7:30 – 9pm on Friday July 9th, 2010
Location: TDS downstairs studio
Price: $15/12 (regular/student)
Class attendees get in to DBF (social dance upstairs from 9pm-midnight) free!
